Ask Claude, ChatGPT or Codex for a slideshow. Folio makes it.
Connect Folio once. Then ask in plain words for a TikTok or Instagram slideshow, new pictures or a posting time. Your AI app works inside your Folio account, and nothing is posted until you approve it in Folio.
What connecting does
Your AI app can read your brand, templates, picture libraries and calendar in Folio.
It builds slideshows in your Folio editor. With the editor open, you watch the slides change.
It makes pictures with AI, or adds pictures you give it to your library.
It prepares a post for the time you choose and sends you a Folio link. The post is only scheduled after you click Approve there.
Connect your AI app
Pick the app you use. It takes two or three steps and this address:
In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
Name it Folio, paste the Folio address and click Continue. Choose Sign in now and click Add.
Sign in to Folio and click Allow connection. In a chat, click + at the bottom left, choose Connectors and switch Folio on.
Free plans can add one custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds Folio first in Organization settings, Connectors. You then click Connect next to Folio.
Open chatgpt.com/plugins. Click the + button, then Add custom MCP server.
Name it Folio and paste the Folio address as the Server URL. Choose OAuth for authentication, click I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
Install the new Folio plugin and sign in to Folio when asked. In a new chat, type @ and pick Folio.
Adding your own server depends on your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings. If Folio does not appear when you type @, switch from Chat to Work at the top of the ChatGPT home page.
When you ask your AI app to schedule or post, it sends you a Folio link. Open it, check the slides, caption, account and time, and click Approve and schedule. For TikTok you also choose who can see the post and confirm the upload on that page. Nothing is posted without that click.
Folio only uses workspaces you can open. AI pictures use your plan's picture credits. Every schedule needs your approval in Folio.
Copy one, paste it into a chat with Folio switched on, and change the details to fit your brand.

Make 3 pictures of a cozy bakery counter at sunrise and add them to my Folio library.
Render the slideshow and show me every slide.
Schedule it on TikTok for tomorrow at 6 pm.
Tip: end a request with "Render it and show me before you say it is done." Your AI app then checks every slide first.
Check that it works
Start a new chat with Folio switched on and paste this request. A working connection answers with your own workspace and brand.
Use Folio to show my brand, my slideshow templates and what is scheduled. Do not create or post anything.
If something is missing
If your AI app says it cannot find Folio, switch Folio on for the chat and start a new chat. If it asks for access again, sign in to Folio and click Allow connection. To give Folio new permissions later, remove it in your AI app and connect it again.
Using a terminal or the Folio plugin
For Claude Code and Codex in a terminal. The steps above do not need any of this.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http folio https://www.folioai.space/api/mcp
Then start Claude Code, type /mcp, pick folio and choose Authenticate.
The plugin adds the same connection plus a guide that teaches your AI app the slideshow workflow. In Claude Code, load it with claude --plugin-url and the download address. For Codex, the README inside the download lists the install steps.
